The Twisted Series in Order

Each book is a complete romance with its own ending, which is why so many people are told they can read them in any order. That is half true, and the half that is false costs you more than you would expect.

The Twisted books in order

1. Twisted Love (2021) — Alex Volkov and Ava Chen — her brother's best friend, cold to the point of cruelty, and the reason he is like that. The book that started the phenomenon, and the shortest of the four.
2. Twisted Games (2021) — Rhys Larsen, a bodyguard, and Bridget von Ascheberg, the princess he is assigned to protect. Duty-bound, forbidden, and the most straightforwardly romantic of the set.
3. Twisted Hate (2022) — Josh Chen and Jules Ambrose, who have loathed each other since book one and finally do something about it. Enemies-to-lovers with an unusually well-hidden second plot.
4. Twisted Lies (2022) — Christian Harper and Stella Alonso — the most morally compromised hero in the series and the quietest heroine. The one readers most often name their favourite.

Four books, series complete. There are no novellas.

Does the order actually matter?

Yes, more than the standalone framing suggests. The four books run forward in time rather than in parallel, and the friend group is small enough that every couple appears in every book. By Twisted Lies, three couples are established and their storylines are still moving in the background.

There is also a specific spoiler problem: the resolution of one book's central mystery is treated as common knowledge in the next. Reading out of order does not break the romances, but it does hand you outcomes early and flatten several reveals.

If someone tells you to start with Twisted Lies because it is the best, the honest answer is that it is the best because three books of groundwork are underneath it.

How Twisted connects to Ana Huang's other series

All of Huang's books share one universe. Kings of Sin is the larger, later series and contains cameos and callbacks to Twisted, but it can be read independently — the connections are Easter eggs rather than plot.

Practically: Twisted is the shorter commitment and the better starting point. Kings of Sin is the one that is still running.

What kind of books these are

Fast, propulsive, trope-forward contemporary romance with high heat and considerable emotional damage in the male leads. They are not subtle and they are not trying to be; the appeal is precision-engineered wish fulfilment executed with real momentum.

If that is not your register, the historical equivalent of the same engine — the ruthless man undone by one person — runs through the morally grey hero shelf and half the Regency canon.
